In 2026, half of the Aldermanic seats are up for election for the 2026 Spring Election.

If you are interested in running for a local office position, please be sure to submit the required documents to the Office of the City Clerk.

Papers are due to the Clerk's Office by Tuesday, January 6. 2026

Registration Statement (Form CF-1) before raising or spending any funds.	Deadline: Tuesday, January 6, 2026, no later than 5 p.m.
Declaration of Candidacy (Form EL-162)	Tuesday, January 6, 2026, no later than 5 p.m.
Nomination Papers for Nonpartisan Office (Form EL-169)	Tuesday, January 6, 2026, no later than 5 p.m.

The City of Lancaster Mayoral Seat is a 2-year term and is up for election in the 2026 Spring Election.

The City of Lancaster is a 4rd Class City.
Aldermanic District Candidates will need to gather 20-40 signatures.
Aldermanic At-Large Candidates will need to gather 50-100 signatures
Mayoral Candidates will need to gather 50-100 signatures.
