"Glimpse into the Past"
The corner of Jefferson and Maple Street now offers a captivating window into Lancaster's history with the unveiling of a new historic photo wrap on the electrical box downtown.
As part of the ongoing "Windows into the Past" initiative, which began in 2018, this latest installation continues to celebrate Lancaster's rich heritage. The project originally spotlighted the train depot, a vital contributor to the community's growth and a symbol of Lancaster’s central role as the seat of Grant County.
This newest addition, located on the northwest side of the Grant County Courthouse Square, provides a unique view of the courthouse during its construction in 1903. The courthouse, a stunning representation of Lancaster’s architectural legacy, stands as a proud landmark in the "City of the Dome."
We extend our thanks to the County for their support of this project, and to Grantland Graphics for their excellent design and installation work. This installation not only beautifies our streets but also deepens our connection to the history that shapes our community.
