The Lancaster Quality of Life

Want to enjoy life at human scale? Live simply and safely?  In Lancaster, we’ve traded away faceless chain stores, endless pavement, and elbow-to- elbow congestion. Rather than simmer at stoplights, we soak up the stunning sights and opportunities of the Driftless Region and farm fields that surround us. We kiss stress good-bye. We happily give up too much time with our brake pedal for more time on our favorite trails.

Lancaster is a compact, affordable, vibrant city of 4,000. We have a distinct character you can’t manufacture. We’re a place you can have a good job and a comfortable life. Find a diversity of experiences that will surprise you. And if that’s not enough, we’re a short drive from a network of communities that have their own character and amenities.
